Electric cars recalled
Tesla Model X electric cars recharge their batteries in Berlin, Germany. The United States National Highway Traffic Safety Administration yesterday asked Tesla Inc to recall 158,000 Model X and Model S vehicles because of media control unit failures that could pose safety risks by leading to touchscreen displays not working. The agency made the unusual request in a formal letter to Tesla after upgrading a safety probe in November. It said the issue could result in the loss of rearcamera image display when in reverse and reduced rear visibility when backing up as well as Autopilot driver assistance system problems.
