Meeting to discuss Mt Iron fire risk
FIRE and Emergency NZ, Otago Civil Defence and Emergency Management and Queenstown Lakes District Council are holding a community meeting to discuss fire risk, response plans and risk mitigation in the Upper Clutha area.
Wanaka ward councillor Niamh Shaw said although the northern slopes of Mt Iron were high risk, anyone who was interested in an update and overview of the fire risk to Mt Iron and how this was being managed, was most welcome to attend the meeting.
It will be held on February 2, at the Wanaka Recreation Centre, 6pm8pm.
