Beast lives up to reputation

A CURIOUS bull, reminiscen­t of the proverbial bull in a china shop, caused some excitement, as well as damage, at Parawai, near Auckland, the other day. The bull was being driven from Kauaerenga to Thames pound, and seeing an open gate, walked through on to Mr Cornelius

McPike’s section. The front door of the house being open, the animal continued its investigat­ions, wandering through to the kitchen, where it became involved in a struggle with a table, a couch, and some crockery. Triumphing over all its opponents, and smashing each in turn, the bull next entered the bedroom, where more damage was done, mirrors being especially singled out as subjects for destructio­n. The theory is advanced that the animal saw himself in the glass and charged. When the police arrived, the bull had decided on a change of air, and again went outside.
