Smell still unidentified
THE cause of a smell which resulted in two Invercargill City Council contractors going in hospital on Friday is still being investigated.
Fire and Emergency New Zealand and ICC staff were called to the corner of Tweed and Pomona Sts in Invercargill, after the two road workers became ill about 3pm.
An ICC spokesman said yesterday the council was aware of the odour at the site.
‘‘Our contractor is undertaking testing today and tomorrow in an effort to understand what may have caused the odour.”
The council did not answer questions about the condition of the contractors.
