Crash victim remembered
DUNEDIN man Gary Wayne Phillips (65), killed when his ute towing a caravan rolled near Omarama last Thursday, has been remembered as a ‘‘kind and caring’’ colleague.
Mr Phillips worked at the Otago Regional Council until 2019.
Council chief executive Sarah Gardner said he was a caring and kind person, respected and valued by colleagues.
‘‘He worked on important projects . . . during his time in engineering, particularly on the Contour Channel in West Taieri.’’
▪ The woman who died in a singlevehicle crash on State Highway 1 near Makikihi, in South Canterbury, about 6.30am on Sunday was Emma Louise Little (31), of Highfield, Timaru.
