Retreat outgrows site

Wellington: The annual caucus retreat for Labour’s MPs is breaking with tradition and moving from Martinborough, in the Wairarapa, to Nelson.

‘‘We’re too big now and there is no place in Wairarapa that can cater to 65 MPs and their families,’’ party chief whip Kieran McAnulty said yesterday.

The retreat begins today.
