Liddell out of OECD race

Auckland: New Zealander Chris Liddell, a top Trump adviser, is reportedly withdrawing his candidacy to become secretarygeneral of the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development.

Mr Liddell was nominated for the top job by the US president last year.

According to the Bloomberg news service, Mr Liddell has told associates he intends to withdraw from consideration to lead the Parisbased organisation.

Last week, National and Act New Zealand rescinded their backing for Mr Liddell following the January 6 riots at the US Capitol.
