Poor form for banks to be closing branches

I FULLY support Elaine Rae’s concerns regarding bank branch closures (Letters, 15.1.21).

It should be remembered that BNZ, back in 2019, promised its own moratorium on any further branch closures until 2022 at the earliest.

Now, rather conveniently, it seemingly is using the Covid19 pandemic as a means to renege on the promise.

Perhaps within the ranks of the bank’s management is a somewhat misguided idea on the meaning of a promise.
