THE feesfree year should be the third year of degrees when people are struggling with high loans and with stimulus to finish their courses (ODT, 9.1.21). At the moment, students straight out of school are, as Penny Simmonds says, getting a paid ‘‘gap year’’ with generally no idea of what they want to do.
