Tongia suspect in custody

Wellington: A woman charged in relation to the murder of Rau Tongia in the Wellington suburb of Karori last month has been remanded in custody.

The 24yearold is charged with murder and appeared in the Wellington District Court yesterday. Mr Tongia (33) was found dead in his Karori home on December 20. The woman, who has name suppression, was remanded in custody until the February 12 when she will appear in the High Court at

Wellington in relation to the murder charge and another of assault with a weapon.

Two other arrests had been made and, while the main offenders had been charged, Detective Inspector Darrell Harpur was confident they will not be the last. — The New Zealand Herald
