Machete attack arrest

Wellington: Police have arrested and charged a 17yearold with aggravated robbery in relation to an attack in Wellington earlier this month in which a person was struck with a machete.

The incident happened at Stellin Memorial Park in Northland on January 9.

The teenager will appear in the Wellington Youth Court. Detective Sergeant Steve Wescott said officers were also following ‘‘strong lines of inquiry’’ in relation to another person, who was believed to be wearing a Nomad gang vest at the time of the attack. — RNZ
