Mob heads for Christchurch

CHRISTCHURCH: More than 100 Mongrel Mob members will descend on Christchurch this weekend.

The Mighty Mongrel Mob Barbarian MC, a motorcycle chapter offshoot of New Zealand's biggest gang, is holding a national hui in Christchurch.

Dozens of riders from around the country were on the road yesterday with plans to meet in the city, which has experienced a recent flareup in gang violence.

It is understood gang members will travel to other South Island centres next week.

It is expected police will monitor their movements. — The New Zealand Herald
