Otago Daily Times

Old papers

-

I WAS nostalgically thinking last Saturday how, when I was about 10 years old, in the ’60s, my dad would be sitting at the table reading the

Otago Daily Times.

Once he was finished with the part I wanted, I would get some scissors and cut out the ‘‘Strip Tip’’ and keep it with others I had cut out.

I’m pretty sure it was called something like this. It was like a comic strip with pictures, that showed a simple idea of how to make something or fix something.

Some of these were really good ideas — at least I thought so at the time.

I wonder if other readers remember them. It would be great if you could print some of these again and we could see how relevant they are today or how things have changed.
