Homes lost in bushfire
Perth: An outofcontrol bushfire burning in Perth’s northeastern suburbs has destroyed about 30 homes and authorities are checking if lives have been lost in one badly hit area.
The massive blaze with a 75km perimeter raged through the night near the hills town of Wooroloo before moving west on to the city’s coastal plain where it threatened homes in the northern suburbs as the temperature rose to 37degC.
Premier Mark McGowan said 80% of all properties in a rural suburb near Gidgegannup had been lost. — AAP
