Recreation manager

Wanaka: Allan Wainwright has been appointed to the new role of Wanaka area recreation manager for the Queenstown Lakes District Council.

He will be responsible for the operational management of the Wanaka Recreation Centre and for developing the council’s sport, recreation and wellbeing programmes across the wider Queenstown Lakes district.

Council sport and recreation manager Simon Battrick said Mr Wainwright had previously managed Katikati Community Centre, Papamoa Sports and Recreation Centre and Lynfield Youth and Leisure Centre, worked for Skills Active as a team leader for the Northern region, and spent a period as national manager for extracurricular child care provider, Schools Out.

He begins the role on February 22.
