Fire in Abbotsford hedge suspicious

A fire in a hedge in the Dunedin suburb of Abbotsford is believed to be suspicious.

A fire crew from Lookout Point was called to John St about 11.45am yesterday, to reports of a hedge on fire.

Dunedin Senior Station Officer Mark Leonard said the fire had been extinguished by contractors by the time firefighters arrived.

The fire was believed to be suspicious, and police had been informed, he said.
