Tree reminder after blaze
BRANCHES coming into contact with power lines was the cause of a fire in the Gore district on Thursday.
A Fire and Emergency New Zealand spokesman said two crews from Gore and Pukerau were called to the scene in Landslip Valley Rd, Pukerau about
7.30pm.
On arrival, firefighters discovered a 4m5m grass fire.
The blaze was extinguished quickly, then PowerNet staff took over.
A PowerNet spokesman said the branch was removed and supply restored about 8.40pm.
It was a reminder to people to keep their trees clear of power lines, he said.
