THE Climate Change Commission wants to reduce pollution by encouraging a switch to ‘‘clean’’ vehicles and wants to see many more privately owned electric cars.

Perhaps the future will also involve more sharing of vehicles. Last year, Waymo launched driverless robotaxis in Arizona, and in Shenzhen, China, AutoX has just done something similar.

A fleet of robotaxis could help Dunedinites cope with the everdwindling number of parking spaces.
