Driver burnt in attack

Brisbane: An unknown substance, believed to be chemicals, has been thrown on a bus driver’s face, leaving him with burns to his eyes and face, south of Brisbane.

The liquid was thrown at the man through the driver’s side window of the bus in Drews Rd, Loganholme, about 9.30am yesterday.

The driver was treated by paramedics at the scene and taken to hospital. The Queensland Ambulance Service said the substance was a ‘‘chemical irritant’’. Police said no passengers were on the bus and noone else was injured. — AAP
