Crash report tomorrow
Jakarta: Indonesia’s air accident investigator expects to release the preliminary report into last month’s deadly crash of a Sriwijaya Air plane tomorrow.
The report will be uploaded to the National Transportation Safety Committee’s website once available, chief Soerjanto Tjahjono said yesterday.
The 26yearold Boeing 737500 crashed into the Java Sea shortly after takeoff from Jakarta on January 9, killing all 62 people on board.
Investigators quickly located and read the plane’s flight data recorder and sent parts of the plane to the United States and Britain for examination.
Divers have yet to recover the cockpit voice recorder. — Reuters
