Reserves report approved
INVERCARGILL: A draft of the Invercargill City Council’s environmental reserves management plan was approved by councillors yesterday.
Council parks planning manager Lesley McCoy presented the report to councillors at the performance, policy and partnership committee meeting.
She said the document was reviewed to ensure all reserves were up to date and appropriately managed for the next 10 years.
It was a kind of a ‘‘master plan’’ for staff to implement those policies, she said.
It included emphasis on pest control mechanisms and the inclusion of several reserves.
Chairman Darren Ludlow called the plan ‘‘a beauty’’.
The document would go for public consultation and then would return to council for final approval.
