First baby for Princess Eugenie
LONDON: Britain’s Princess Eugenie, granddaughter of Queen Elizabeth, has given birth to her first child, a baby son, with husband Jack Brooksbank, Buckingham Palace announced yesterday.
Eugenie — the 10th in line to the throne and younger daughter of the Queen’s third child Prince Andrew and his exwife Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York — and her son were doing well, the palace said.
Born weighing 2.6kg, the baby, whose name has not yet been released, is the ninth greatgrandchild for the 94yearold queen.
‘‘The Queen, the Duke of Edinburgh, the Duke of York, Sarah, Duchess of York, and Mr and Mrs George Brooksbank . . . are delighted with the news,’’ the palace said. — Reuters
