Mower taken as spate of tool thefts continues

-

A rideon lawn mower and tools are the latest items to be stolen in a series of equipment thefts.

Senior Sergeant Jason McCoy, of Oamaru, said the items were stolen at the weekend from a shed on a Balmoral St residential property.

Last month, the Waitaki Community Gardens also had its rideon lawn mower stolen.

Between January 30 and

February 1, a circular saw, cordless chainsaws and angle grinders were stolen from The ToolShed in Humber St.

‘‘Over the last month or so there’s been more burglaries with chainsaws and those sort of tools being stolen,’’ Snr Sgt McCoy said.

People should make sure to lock their sheds and report any suspicious activity they saw to police, he said.
