Firearm charges pair remanded in custody
INVERCARGILL: Two men allegedly involved in a gun incident at Glengarry Tavern over the weekend appeared in the Invercargill District Court yesterday.
Tre MoeruaAwhitu and Mangu Tamatea faced charges of unlawful possession of a firearm and presenting a firearm.
Two other men were also arrested in relation to the incident, but the charges brought against them were withdrawn by police.
The Otago Daily Times understands the incident happened on Saturday during an altercation between rival gangs in the pub.
Both men were remanded in custody by Judge Russell Walker without a plea until their next appearance on March 2.
