of their proper care. The Prime Minister said he thought the way in which the institutio­n was growing was simply marvellous. It was not many years since they had started in a cottage with two or three infants. He did not know how many hundreds had passed through since then, but there must have been perhaps thousands, and now he learnt they had 50 trained nurses.

It is stated that practicall­y each day messages sent out from the French radio station at Lyons are received by the New Zealand stations at Awanui and Awarua. Messages are also received from other distant stations, and in respect to those from Lyons, scientific research is now in progress to, if possible, discover the cause.
