Postal voting closes

Invercargill: Yesterday was the last day to post votes for the Invercargill City Council byelection.

Votes close on February 19 and can still be dropped off at the council Civic Administration Building in Esk St, the Bluff Service Centre in Gore St or the Invercargill Public Library.

More than 10,863 votes have been received, about 27% of eligible voters.

There are nine candidates contesting the election, with one seat available at the council table.
