Albion 154 lost to CDK 155/3

Combined team CarisbrookDunedinKaikorai cruised to a comfortable sevenwicket win against Albion in the dress rehearsal for the final.

Both sides have made it through to the oneday final on March 14.

But CDK will go into the game as strong favourite, having dominated the tournament.

The Demon Dogs have won eight of their nine completed matches this season and were too good for Albion at Tonga Park on Saturday.

Albion could only muster a tally of 154.

Richard Sillars made the crucial blows. He removed the infrom Max O’Dowd for 11 and Volts opener Hamish Rutherford for 38.

He also go rid of fringe Otago seamer Angus McKenzie before he could contribute to the score.

Sillars finished with three for 19 from 10 impressive overs.

Otago spin duo Josh Finnie (four for 23) and Michael Rippon (two for 38) teamed up to account for most of the rest of the batting lineup.

The chase was straightforward. Opener Camden Hawkins stroked 90 from 75 balls and Mitchell Renwick made an undefeated 52 from 64 to help seal the victory.

Green Islathnd 214/8 lost to Taieri 216/2

Dale Phillips and Beckham WheelerGreenall blasted an undefeated 130 for the third wicket to guide Taieri to a eightwicket win against Green Island at Brooklands Park.

Earlier, the Swamp Rats had grafted their way through to 214 for eight. They had slumped to 18 for two but the middle order of Gregor Croudis (43), Joel Meade (33) and Jack Mockford (41) helped put together a reasonable tally.

Marcus Frost took two for 32 from his 10 overs and spinner Riley Dixon claimed two for 27 from eight overs.

Taieri openers Cameron Jackson (30) and Shannon Young (42) put on 81 for the first wicket.

It was a perfect platform for Phillips and WheelerGreenall to play with some freedom.

Phillips clouted six sixes and four fours in a whirlwind knock of 79 from 64 balls, while

WheelerGreenall played a supporting role with 39 from 54.

UniversityGrange 189/7 lost to NE Valley 192/5

Otago allrounder Anaru Kitchen steered North East Valley to a fivewicket win against UniversityGrange at Logan Park.

He compiled an unbeaten 79 from 83 balls and combined in a useful 69run partnership for the third wicket, which helped Valley negotiate some early trouble.

McClenaghan starred for UniversityGrange. He picked up three wickets, including the key scalp of Neil Broom for 10.

But his side just did not set a big enough target. University opener Jacob Cumming continues to impress and made 36.

Dhvanil Gandhi added 37 and a couple of others chipped in with scores in the 20s.

Volts pair Michael Rae (two for 28) and Jarrod McKay (two for 32) put in an honest shift for North East Valley.
