Botanic Garden keeps rating
THE Dunedin Botanic Garden has retained its sixstar rating, reflecting its status as one of New Zealand’s top garden experiences.
The New Zealand Gardens Trust completed a reevaluation of the botanic garden’s 2018 assessment in November.
Its next review is in 2022.
The Dunedin Botanic Garden was established in 1863 and was
New Zealand’s first botanic garden.
It occupies about 30ha in North Dunedin and has more than 6800 plant species.
The garden has 19 themed garden collections and an aviary.
Gardens that qualify for six stars are assessed as having the highest levels of presentation, design and plant interest through the year.
