Johnson records 1000th win

WELLINGTON: Premiershipleading jockey Danielle Johnson brought up her 1000th win in the saddle when piloting home Feelin’ Fancy to win the Waikato 1400 for trainer Jamie Richards at Te Aroha yesterday.

Johnson’s father, Peter Johnson, also hit the 1000win milestone himself during his jockey career, possibly making the pair the first fatherdaughter duo to achieve the feat globally. — NZ Racing Desk
