CLUBBING IT
North Otago has made an early claim for the sporting comeback of the year. Somehow the team rallied from losing two wickets in the opening over and slumping to 17 for four to beat Nelson by a record margin of 250 runs at Saxton Oval on the weekend. It was North Otago’s largest win by a runs margin in the Hawke Cup and was a massive overachievement for such a tiny association. The team will need to draw on all that character when it defends the trophy against Hawke’s Bay in a week.
