Lantern Festival delayed

Auckland: Auckland’s Lantern Festival has been postponed until early next month.

The threeday festival, originally set down for next week, has been pushed back by a week and will now start on March 4.

Auckland Unlimited said the postponement would allow more time for a hopeful return to Alert Level 1.

Head of major events Richard Clarke said after consultation with key partners and stakeholders, it was clear there was a preference to delay the event.
