Classic motor racing is the focus at Teretonga Park in Invercargi­ll this weekend, where the annual Mobil 1

Classic SpeedFest is set to run.

Major draws include the Archibalds Historic Touring Car Class, featuring twotime World Cup Touring Car Champion Paul Radisich at the wheel of his 1994 FIA Touring Car World Cup winning Ford Mondeo (pictured). His rivals in a packed class include Wanaka’s Allan Dippie in a Rover Vitesse.

Otago drivers feature prominentl­y in the classic saloons category, with Dunedin’s Steve Ross piloting the famous PDL Mustang, and one his strongest rivals likely to be another Mustang driven by Paul Coory of Mosgiel. Classes for Sports &

GT, Formula Junior, Formula Libre, and vintage racing cars are also on the card, along with the more modern Clubmans category.

The action commences at 9am on both Saturday and Sunday.
