Vegetation fire

FIREFIGHTERS used three fire appliances to extinguish a 100sq m vegetation fire at Branxholme, Southland, near Wallacetown, northwest of Invercargill, after being alerted at 4.34pm yesterday.

Two fire appliances from Wallacetown and another Invercargill were sent to the fire, and firefighters were in action for about 90 minutes, a Fire and Emergency New Zealand spokesman said.
