Mullet influx at Owaka

There has been quite an influx of mullet to the estuary at Owaka, and they have penetrated up both the Catlins and Owaka Rivers (reports the Free Press). Big catches have been made with rod and line, the favourite bait being small pieces of rabbit. One keen trout fisher has been particularly successful among the mullet, landing three and four at a time, and filling a sack in quick time. — ODT, 24.2.1921.
