Otago Business School to join international network
OTAGO Business School Dean Robin Gauld says it is a ‘‘real privilege’’ for the business school to be the first in New Zealand to be invited to join the Global Business School Network.
Founded in 2003 by the World Bank, the GBSN is an independent nonprofit organisation based in Washington.
Its purpose was to help grow management and entrepreneurial talent in the developing world to help generate prosperity.
It offered various programmes throughout its network including an online teacher training series, and platforms for sharing information digitally.
“The Global Business School Network advances management education with a focus on economic sustainability, which must be applauded in this day and age. It is an excellent fit for Otago Business School given our considerable strengths in sustainability and development,’’ Prof Gauld said.
“I look forward to working with other academics around the globe, and especially those in developing nations to advance their management capabilities.”
The network’s members comprised more than 100 business schools, including the Copenhagen Business School, INSEAD, ESMT Berlin, NUCB Business School (Japan), Moscow School of Management SKOLKOVO, IMD (Switzerland), the University of Glasgow, and MIT, Stanford University, and Dartmouth College in the US.
