Stabbing suspect sought
Alexandra: A person allegedly responsible for the stabbing of a 22yearold man in Alexandra on Wednesday night has been urged to hand himself in to police.
The victim was flown to Dunedin Hospital in a serious condition, and was last night in a stable condition following surgery.
Police investigating the stabbing believe it occurred about 11.30pm, after a confrontation between both people, who were known to each other. It followed an an incident between the pair earlier in the evening.
Police were aware of the identity of the alleged offender, who Detective Sergeant Derek Shaw said should hand himself in. Police believed he had left the Alexandra and might have travelled to Southland.
