Important to remember on Anzac Day

-

I ATTEND Anzac Day to remember those who were killed and maimed in wars. New Zealand citizens went to war through loyalty and for the preservation of their country and families.

Mr Horan’s comments (Letters, 1.5.21) affront the people who mourn the loss of life and the human damage from war.

Man’s propensity for war and the politics and actions of nations create conflicts — there is nothing ‘‘feelgood’’ about the results.

Year after year, I will continue to ‘‘remember them’’ — my relatives. If we forget to ‘‘remember them’’, we are far lesser people for it. I proffer that Mr Horan steers his energy towards playing a part in preventing future conflicts.
