- BETH LYONS

ROSLYN Wakari overcame a halftime deficit to claim victory in the Women’s Premier League on Saturday.

Arnon Tapp’s University Seconds took the lead in the first half through an own goal, following a cross from Caitlin Toohey.

Roslyn returned fired up after the break and scored almost immediately, through Emma Black.

Renee Bacon was influential in the midfield and produced the assist for Roslyn’s second goal, with Kate Macbeth hammering home a superb volley.

Paige Julian was the scorer of the third goal that secured all three points for Hamish Philip’s team in a 31 win.

Tech continued its unbeaten run in the league, beating Green Island 20 at the football turf at Logan Park.

Craig Johnston's side took the lead after 10min, when Emily Morison showed exceptional skill to beat several players and find the back of the net.

Nieve Collin doubled Tech's lead in the 52nd minute, hitting a long shot after Shontelle Smith's initial attempt was parried by Green Island's Tessa Nicol.

Tech controlled large amounts of possession and created plenty of chances and now sits nine points clear at the top of the table.

Uni Prems overcame Mosgiel at the turf with a 30 victory, despite having a smaller squad than usual with only two substitutes on the bench.

Tess Marvin scored her first hattrick of the season and Beth Elliot and Pia Davis created chances throughout for Varsity.

Mosgiel created several goalscoring opportunities, including an effort from Jody Burrell that hit the crossbar.

Erin Dickie made an impact on her return in a blue shirt, looking dangerous throughout the match.
