SHELDON RUSH: ‘‘I was born and bred in Oamaru; when I left school I wanted to be a motorcycle mechanic because I loved everything about motorcycles — racing them, fixing them, lived and breathed motocross. I worked for John Rush Motor Group as apprentice mechanic, did a preapprentice course at Otago Polytechnic and then North Otago Motor Group before moving to Christchurch and working on Mazda and Jeep as the Chrysler Jeep technician. I returned to Oamaru to work as a contract mechanic, and then working on my own before realising there was an opportunity to bring Yamaha and its large range of products to the region. I look forward to seeing the faces of the people once they experience what Yahama has to offer, especially returning from a test drive with a grin on their face as happened last week — then they know what I’ve been talking about .’’

JAMIE WOLLSTEIN: Graduated from Otago University with a commerce degree, then worked in Dunedin at Wickliffe Press before heading to Japan with his wife to experience a culture they had always been interested in.

They worked for a multinational corporation for six years and quickly learned internal and external customer's expectations are to be exceeded, not just met, and also motorcycles are a way of life !

‘‘Upon returning to New Zealand we settled in Dunedin and I worked for Miller Studios before relocating to my home town of Oamaru, taking a great opportunity to enter the automotive industry, working for North Otago Motor Group, where I gained valuable automotive experience.

The opportunity to start a business with Sheldon, whom I grew up riding dirt bikes with around North Otago, and the backing and guidance of

Yamaha, while staying in the industry, is a fantastic way to combine business, and pleasure, I look forward to working with customers to find the solution to suit them.

Yamaha strives to realise peoples' dreams with ingenuity and passion, and to always be a company people look to for the next exciting product or concept that provides exceptional value and deep satisfaction.
