GOOD to see Andrew Whiley offering more ideas about improving our Dunedin bus services (ODT, 6.9.21). I support his concept and suggestion­s. A few extra little route tweaks could also help, such as the Ridge Runner passing a bit closer to the city centre at some point, so travellers don’t need to change buses to get there. Mike Cowell

NEW Zealand radio has lost its most intelligen­t, wellread and wellmanner­ed talkback host with Peter Williams’ departure from Magic Radio over the weekend. This, in my opinion, is a significan­t loss for freedom of speech in New Zealand and with the planned introducti­on of a new ‘‘hate speech’’ law; the opportunit­ies for righteous indignatio­n and conservati­ve opinion will soon be deemed punishable.
