SDHB should fully endorse Covid19 vaccination
EVERY person not accepting vaccination against Covid19 is at increased risk of being hospitalised, and fatally infecting hospital staff.
Losing even one highly trained specialist or technician significantly reduces the capability of the hospital to protect the health of every single one of us.
The case is so clearcut and so vitally important to its main role, that all Southern District Health Board members should unequivocally endorse vaccination against Covid19 (ODT, 9.10.21).
If they cannot, they should resign. The Government has now mandated vaccination for all key hospital staff.
SDHB board members would be expected to endorse this policy. Dr David James Crook

I WELL remember the times when Judith Collins moaned that Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern was getting too much TV exposure.
And then, when people noticed our PM was not there, she was actually out and about in lowvaccination areas encouraging people to front up and be vaccinated. Apparently it was a very successful operation.
Since this latest outbreak, Ms Collins and David Seymour, along with Chris Bishop, have appeared in interviews heaping criticism on the Government’s policies. Their only answer is to stop restrictions, open borders, live with the virus and if people die, so be it.
Great attitude. Maybe if they stopped smirking we could believe their concerns are genuine and not just a chance to score political points.
We all need to put our political preferences aside and do all we can to support each other to get the jab as this is the only way forward. Mary Laurenson

Trains coming
GREAT to see 57 new engines for KiwiRail for the South Island.
Does this mean at last a return of passenger trains south to Dunedin? How environmentally positive that would be! J. Park
