-

Racing: Zandon was the early 31 favourite to win the 148th Kentucky Derby at Churchill Downs on Sunday after drawing the number 10 post in yesterday’s postposition draw ceremony.

The 3yrold colt, who will be ridden by Flavien Prat, stormed to victory at last month's Grade 1 Blue Grass Stakes to qualify for the first leg of the Triple Crown.

Derby points leader Epicenter is second favourite at 72 after drawing the number three post.

Messier, who will be ridden by threetime Derby champion John Velazquez, will break from gate six and is third favourite at 81.

Sunday’s $US3 million, 20horse ‘‘Run for the Roses’’ is expected to attract more than 150,000 racing fans in Louisville, Kentucky. — Reuters as Manchester United returned to winning ways with a comfortable 30 victory over Brentford at Old Trafford.

Bruno Fernandes and Cristiano Ronaldo, the latter with a penalty, also netted on Monday, which is the last home fixture of a difficult campaign for United.

United remains in sixth place with 58 points from 36 games, five behind fourthplaced Arsenal but having played two more matches. Brentford has 40 points from 35 games and may need one more win to ensure it is not dragged into a relegation fight. — Reuters
