Makeover under way

Hastings: Better known as the birthplace of the Mongrel Mob, Hastings is repositioning itself as an arts and culture mecca.

Millions of dollars of investment is taking place throughout the district and new developments are soon to open in the city centre.

The development is led by the Hastings District Council.

Council chief executive Nigel Bickle said, ‘‘We’re trying to position [Hastings] as a genuine destination for arts and culture.’’ — RNZ
