Hipkins heading abroad
Wellington: Education Minister Chris Hipkins is set to travel to North and South America to help promote New Zealand as a destination for international students.
He also said the Government had dropped its plans to stop primary schools enrolling foreign pupils.
He said the Government’s reversal of its position came after consultation on enrolment.
‘‘In the end, we decided that the benefits for both domestic and international students under year 9 are significant and we want them to continue,’’ Mr Hipkins said. — RNZ
