Change for the common good
CHRISTOPHER Horan (Letters, 9.5.22) sees the Green Party as ‘‘disregarding the wider public’’ while promoting women, Maori and the rainbow community. How can this possibly be?
Women constitute half of the population and the others are all full members of the public.
For too long the interests of a minority group have been able to dominate policy and major sections of society have had to endure inequalities such as the gender pay gap and trivialising abuse such as that recently demonstrated by Simon Henry.
Let us celebrate change when it augers well for the common good. Fay Lambert
