What a ride

AROUND this time of year, I usually treat the kids to a trip to Disney World as they are crazy about riding on roller coasters.

Fortunately, since the fibreoptics have been put into the roadway between Wanaka and Haast, I am able to treat the kids to a far cheaper but same thrilling ride by driving up and down State Highway 6.

WITH all the uproar over nurses pay disputes I'm sitting here thinking, this is an easy fix, just find the bloody money and give these dedicated hard working people what they deserve, acknowledging how they have given more of themselves, to the detriment of themselves and their families, through this pandemic. Problem solved! Tick. And on to the appalling waiting lists. Here's my solution, radical maybe, but hear me out.

Find two amazing women, give them a mission and ‘‘Bam’’, job done, they would stride in to the DHB, sort the wheat from the chaff, get rid of the dead wood and make things happen.

As I say, just a morning’s musings and two problems solved, bring it on. Advertisement would read ‘‘Wanted. Two amazing women to sort out the ‘bleep’ and just get the job done!’’ Helen Muir
