Ceiling fire put out

FIREFIGHTERS extinguished a ceiling fire in a house in Invercargill early on Saturday.

Two crews were sent to Lewis St, Gladstone, just after 3am, a Fire and Emergency New Zealand spokesman said.

Fire investigator Murray MilneMaresca said the fire was caused when a leaking roof allowed water to get into electrical equipment.
