Supporting cancer cause a snip
Receiving a haircut from Hayley Gray as part of the Leukaemia and Blood Cancer New Zealand Shave for a Cure fundraiser at the Dunedin Farmers store on Saturday is Joyti Wing, of Mosgiel.
Mrs Wing, a Farmers staff member, has a close friend who is battling cancer and she had lost her motherinlaw to cancer.
About eight New Zealanders are diagnosed each day with a blood cancer.
More than $600,000 had been raised nationally for the cause by 5pm on Saturday, including more than $6000 from the Farmers
Dunedin team.
Dunedin event organiser Jane Booth said Covid19 had disrupted fundraising for charitable organisations for two years and it was important to work with them.
