- WYATT RYDER

A CAR ended up on its roof on rocks in Otago Harbour after veering off the road yesterday morning.

A Fire and Emergency New Zealand spokeswoman said the car left Portobello Rd and came to rest near the water about 9.15am.

The one person in the vehicle was out of the car by the time crews arrived, she said.

Crews from Willowbank and St Kilda used a ladder to reach the wreckage.

Senior Sergeant Anthony Bond, of Dunedin, said the 22yearold woman driver was travelling from Dunedin to Portobello when her car slid off the road in wet conditions and landed on its roof.

The driver had minor injuries and was treated at the scene by St John, Snr Sgt Bond said.
