Covid hits Black Caps touring party

Cricket: Three of the Black Caps touring party are in isolation after testing positive for Covid19 on the morning of the first tour match against Sussex in Hove, near Brighton.

Henry Nicholls, Blair Tickner and bowling coach Shane Jurgensen had begun five days of hotel room isolation after producing positive rapid antigen tests yesterday morning (local time), a statement from New Zealand Cricket said.

The remainder of the tour party had returned negative tests and would continue to be monitored and tested as required, the statement added.

The fourday warmup match will go ahead as planned.
